Are you seeing a BLERK! Error while using AOL? Take a look below for a BLERK! Error Fix....

For those that use AOL mail and have come across the" BLERK!" error, the following steps will allow you to access your email without having to disable web acceleration.

1. Logout of email

2. Close your browser

3. On the AOL mail login page, unclick Remember Me (please refer to the screenshot below).

4. Log into AOL mail If Remember Me remains unchecked (requiring typing in your username and password more frequently), you will not see the Blerk message and your email should work without disabling web acceleration.

    This is a new problem for me since updating to Gen 4 a few months ago. I have aol troubles even after cleaning out cookies, password, history restarting browser and restarting computer. Web acceleration was actually down (I had an abnormal state code) and I restarted my modem. I contacted Aol but testing by relocating to home office where there is CenturyLink broadband or using my iPhone 4G as connection allowed me to connect seamlessly with Aol. Clearly, like the X-box live server issues, Aol is implementing ip authentication by "bouncing back" to check the legitimacy of the connection and the dynamic IP Hughes gives it is the security issue. Please look into this. (By the way, I received a survey call and said I was disappointed that Hughes seems not to care about its product or employee satisfaction and that there is no "ownership" of the product or problems by Hughes support. I said I was trying to help because I have been a customer since Spaceway Directnet days and think Hughes COULD have something great if they changed tactics - she said someone would "call me back." Sadly and quite with consistency for my treatment per usual I have not been called. It has been more than 6 weeks. Hughes has an opportunity for greatness and it is squandering it through Corperate callousness - how sad)

  • Dear Suz, thank you for your reply. I have not called (but searched this forum and signed up as a "me too" on this issue on another thread) and I do not plan to call on this and CERTAINLY not to that phone number which is the generic help line. We both know I will be speaking with a script reading disenfranchised person who may be in Texas but more likely in Mumbai. I have been working with AOL who reply to me personally via email with some fixes including a beta site. None of this addresses the real issues of dynamic IPs and disinterested staff. I am glad you replied but sorry your solution was knee jerk calling to a phone line which is rarely answered in less than 40 minutes and yields nothing.

  • Suz, if there were a way to speak with someone such as yourself (not preliminary tier "support" via 866-347-3292) I would gladly contact Hughes. The current system where I must call back several times after generating a case number to ruse to an appropriate tier level for a knowledgable technician is time wastingly foolish. Alternatively if I could communicate via email with someone knowledgable it would be much more rewarding for all involved. Thank you for your time.
