hughesnet putting up more satelites
Now before you reply, LISTEN. I was let out of school early today, and was home playing some minecraft, well, it was going good till 3hrs later i started to lag, I looked around my desktop for an answer and found it was 4:00pm so a lot of people would be off work or kids home from school. I was wondering if anyone thinks putting up a couple more satellites besides Jupiter would be a realistic plan, i know this would take probably millions of dollars BUT i believe it's a solution to a lot of people's problems of hughesnet not having good performance most hours...I would reasonably expect another satellite if this was put into consideration this year, probably 7-10 years from now?

Not millions. I bit closer to a billion. While the answer is clear, yes, that would be good. In reality, the answer is no, not going to happen.

CHAMP
1Actuall there is a tentative launch schedule on the satellite launch schedule website I watch, or there was anyhow of a spaceway 5 in 2013 and it was to serve Canada and then in 2015 they had spaceway 6 scheduled to launce to enhace and double the service from Jupiter in the US. Viasat and HN have both released news releases that said they were working on more satellites already so I would expect that you will see them going up and going online within the next 5 years or so. The ultimate goal they are working toward is being able to offer what ground services are having more and more trouble offering and that is unlimited internet and they won't even have to offer that if things keep going the way they are. If they can get the backhaul at the NOC's then as caps get lower and lower on ground services sonner or later the caps are going to cross and satellite will be offering higher caps than alot of ground based services. This is a large gamble that probably won't pay off in the end but it will still lead to better service for the current customers.-
Good to here they're trying! I had no idea anything besides Jupiter was going up so this is a brighten on my day!

Nice little Calendar in the front there to.
I don't think a Launch Date is Public for the Jupiter Sat though. -

don't know if I want to wait that long ....."2013" ......I'll be falling asleep sitting here at my computer waiting for the pages to load.
Thought my problem was fixed, replacement of HN9000 for another one, lasted 3 days, back to the same ol....but all the HN tests are "normal", yeah... -
