I'll bet they have surveys and lots of customer feedback that proves that 95% of us would prefer higher rates.

Keep in mind that this is not the first time. It has been quite a few years since the 9000 became the standard, and the 7000 became old tech. No price drop, so you have a precedent that says "Not a chance!"

They wont drop prices on the old contracts, as they are semi-superior in some ways to Gen4 contracts. Dropping prices would result in incentive to not upgrade for a new contract and higher costs.

no way jose, i have already asked this question. no you will be forced to sign a two year agreement with no guarantees that it will be EVENTUALLY the same slow speed. Oh in th ebeginning it will be fast, but when hughes intentionally oversells their product, then you will see the slow downs. Customers today are not savy enough to check out the product first. I certainly include myself in that group too...

It's not likely. Exede/Wildblue didn't drop prices for existing customers. The one thing they did do before Exede launched, in my area new customers could sign up for the Pro pack on the legacy system, the highest one, for $50 indefinitely (same price as the cheapest package). NOTHING for existing customers. In fact, I don't know if it's still the case here, may not be, but people on Wildblue couldn't even change the package level they were on since Exede launched. The only option for change was "upgrading" to Exede. They want new/more customers and existing ones on the new higher service, that's their priority, offering perks for their existing customers is not very high on the priority list.
