Thank you HughesNet!!!
LOVE MY HUGHES NET! We had AOL Dial-Up - live in the country where no "tower provider" could reach us. HughesNet filled the need! We print postae on line using the USPS web site. Dial-up took 15 minutes to load the USPS site. HughesNet takes ONE MINUTE! (Other than an occasional problem with our HughesNet service "freezing" for 2-3 minutes for no apparent reason (in perfect weather), we are HAPPY with our service! Thank you HughesNet!!! Bill

I'm happy that you're happy, but usps.com normally loads in under 10 secs for me.
I see your other post too - maybe you have a service issue. -

A few years ago my grandparents had AOL dial up....AOL dial up is probably one of the worst if not THE worst....Hughesnet is definitley better than that!

Hi Bill
David has a point you should follow through with, considering your other thread.
Shouldn't take a minute to load USPS.
Ouch, AOL all my tech forums will say it borders on spyware, too much tracking.
How did you uninstall AOL ? Using the uninstaller found in programs ?
Otherwise likely you have remnants of AOL likes to bury it's self deep into your machine...

Thank you Marsh, I will check with customer service on loading time. Each time I check our "speed" it's 90/91, and someone told me that was very good. (??) And thanks for the reminder to check my removal of AOL. I regret losing their freebies of late, but COULD NOT live with dial-up any more!! Bill

Hi Bill
Since you just got HN that means a 9000 modem not the older 7000.
My signal is 180/190 usually unless weather conditions like snow/rain will deteriorate.
I've seen 45 and still be workable before drop off.
Remember digital as in broadcast over the air TV a perfect picture or you have none.
No more snowy pictures, perfect or none.
I'm concerned when you say 90/91 that suggests not a finely tuned dish, your installer did not correctly point it.
You are playing a little too close to the edge...
