Need to thaw Carbonite

I have a lot of files still showing the yellow dot, but I keep getting a popup screen saying my backup is frozen. How do I get it to stop freezing my backup so the files that still need to be backed up can be backed up?

Have you asked the Carbonite support folks ?

I've had Carbonite for about a month and have not run into this problem....

From their site

System Requirements for Backing Up Via Satellite Internet
Many satellite internet providers set limits on the amount of data that can be uploaded and/or downloaded each month and may assess surcharges for exceeding that limit. Therefore, we recommend that customers with satellite internet select ‘Manual Backup’ and select only the most important files for backup initially. Once those files have been uploaded, additional files can be manually added over time. This allows customers to control the amount of data being uploaded in any given month.

Yes - I read that part too, and I did select manual backup, starting with my most important data first, and gradually adding less important folders - now my data backup is fully up to date at 10.5 gig and just requires daily updating.
As far as HN goes, they do not apply uploads to their FAP limit, this was discussed recently in the DSL Reports forum. Uploads to not register on my HN Status meter or on HN's Download Allowance Status web page.
While my upload speed occasionally drops from 160 kbps to 50 I have yet to see a "backup frozen" message from Carbonite.
