A fixed version has been released. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the crash, it is possible that your client may not be able to auto-update. To update manually, you can visit the Service Tools page and click the "Install Now" button to update your client. If you have additional issues, please post them.

The Status Meter does not work with Lion. and of course I cannot download IOS5 because of the download restrictions and the lack of a Download Manager for Mactintosh. I pay $120 a month for the service but I don't get the same service as Windows users. Talk about Fairness.

The only solution is start it going at 2am ET.

I use Linux, with no HN support whatsoever, but at least updates are coordinated.

10-26-2011 The newest version of Status Meter now crashes my XP Home system every time I attempt to install it. Ditto my other system, which uses XP Professional. FWIW, it worked fine on both systems up unitil a couple of weeks ago, when Hughes "updated" it. Thanks, Hughes. Sheesh.

Hmm... I don't understand it, Kenny. All was fine until a couple of weeks ago. Maybe one of MS's auto-updates threw a wrench in the works, or something an Adobe AIR update did (gee, what a shock that would be). Sometimes I wonder how Adobe got where they are considering the buggy crap they put on the street.

Anyway, I've given up on Status Meter as just not worth the repeated compatibility hassles. After doing a little web homework, I downloaded Datastormusers.com's "fnFAP-Alert" and it's working just fine on three different machines using three different Windows versions--XP Home, XP Pro, and XP Media Center Edition. So there, Hughes.

Thanks, Sara. It was interesting reading, however the free hnFAPAlert v 1.1.62 for Windows continues to work perfectly (and includes not only an alarm but an optional download cutoff at a user-determined % FAP point), so I think I'll stick with it for the foreseeable future.

IMHO, you guys are stuck with chasing a never-ending problem trying to keep up with a steady stream of updates for Adobe AIR. Maybe it would be better, as someone suggested, to develop stand-alone Windows and Mac utilities that would not depend on Adobe AIR to run. AIR seems to be sort of a lifetime project in progress at Adobe, which is not a huge surprise--I have used Photoshop Elements 3 through 10 (so far) and they were ALL a bug-laden "works in progress", with their main attraction being that in spite of their warts, they were still better than the alternatives out there for keeping track of 30,000+ images.

I suspect they're not really doubling it, but just doing some kind of rollover experiment. If you refill to 64%, maybe that is 100% of 250 mB (200 base plan + 50 MB extra) plus whatever you had left from yesterday, or some fraction of it.

Well I have seen this before and I think Sara adressed this problem for someone else in another thread and said that it was a bug in the system and they are working on it. Well now that I think about it, that was a reset time problem but she said the experiments with the FAP had cause SOME bugs and they were working to get em fixed as I recall so they may be going to fix this as well, dunno. I do know that me and others have a flat doubling of our plan allowance and a steady reset to 100% but Kristie isn't the only one I have seen with this problem and every one that has chimed in with it has said they are resseting to 65%.

You need to go to system control and see what your plan is.
Depends on how much you had before refill as this is a true rollover.

Example yesterday about 68% was odd because hnFAPAlert showed my 525MB but control showed a double in my plan.
So this morning having 566MB to rollover 525MB was a full 100%

Yeah, that's not going to happen. Come back often and check your status on a regular basis to see what's going on.

My status meter did work under Lion, but the software was installed when I had an earlier OS. That is, it worked until a technician swapped out my modem. After that, the status meter window won't even open.
